Spirent SmartBits LAN-3310A Ethernet SmartMetrics Module

The SmartBits LAN-3310A, an Ethernet SmartMetrics Module, is a product of Spirent Communications. The Spirent SmartBits LAN-3310A SmartMetrics Module can be used with the following modules: AC-6002A, AC-6003A, and ACC-6021A with multi-mode, single-mode, and 1000Base-T RJ-45 interfaces, respectively. The LAN-3310A module is designed for applications in the industries involving network devices and/or systems. The performance and interlinked operational status of the network devices can be investigated by the LAN-3310A module. In addition to the scrutiny of performance parameters, the SmartBits LAN-3310A module can check and certify the network devices for their operational stress and loading characteristics. 

The LAN-3310A Ethernet SmartMetrics Module has a GBIC-based interface that supports a 1000 Mbps line rate. The LAN-3310A module features single-mode and multi-mode fiber traffic generation. The multi-mode fiber feature enables the LAN-3310A to test a huge network system consisting of millions of servers and clients. The SmartBits LAN-3310A module is provided with 2 ports and is installed in the SMB-6000B or SMB-600 SmartBits Chassis. When integrated with SMB-6000B, 24 ports per chassis can be made, while a maximum of 4 ports per chassis can be obtained if the SmartBits SMB-600 Chassis is used with the SmartBits LAN-3310A module.

The LAN-3310A Ethernet SmartMetrics Module is also used to launch comparative studies of various 1000 Mbps network devices. At 1000 Mbps line speed, the LAN-3310A module can perform only at full-duplex mode of operation. The LAN-3310A Ethernet SmartMetrics Module can generate as well as receive the Ethernet frames with VLAN tagging IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1q, and IEEE 802.3ac. The SmartBits LAN-3310A module can perform analysis on 64K streams and supports 40 to 16,384 bytes frame size in Ethernet traffic.
