Spirent SmartBits LAN-3311A TeraMetrics Ethernet Module

The SmartBits LAN-3311A is a TeraMetrics Ethernet Module. The SmartBits LAN-3311A module is designed by Spirent Communications. Equipped with a GBIC single-mode and multi-mode interface, the Spirent SmartBits LAN-3311A TeraMetrics module is applied in the industries to simulate complex and extensive networks of mutually integrated devices, clients, and servers. In this way, a full-scale performance testing of the network systems is carried out reliably. When used with other SmartBits modules, the SmartBits LAN-3311A high-performance module can test the working efficiency of Ethernet-Ethernet, Ethernet-ATM, and Ethernet-POS systems. The SmartBits LAN-3311A TeraMetrics Module is a modern generation of performance assessment systems featuring frame loss measurement, complete latency characteristics, and tests regarding sequence tracking of DUTs in the network systems.  

The Spirent SmartBits LAN-3311A module features 2 ports on the interface and is supported by both SmartBits SMB-600 and SMB-6000B Chassis occupying one slot in each. Two SmartBits LAN-3311A modules can be set up in the SMB-600 Chassis while twelve can be housed in the SMB-6000B Chassis. The SmartBits LAN-3311A module contains 1 Pentium Processor and supports a line speed of 1000 Mbps. For the single-mode interface, the GBIC module with the part number ACC-6003A SM is used, while the ACC-6002A GBIC module MM is used for multi-mode interfacing. 

The SmartBits LAN-3311A module can generate stream traffic at a frame rate of 1,448,095 fps. The key features of the SmartBits LAN-3311A module involve 40 – 16,384 bytes with random or user-defined fixed sizes, analyzing capability of 64K streams, independent operation of ports to generate up to 512 streams peer-to-peer, individual port transmission settings, 16 MB buffer for traffic capture, and compatibility with frames of VLAN tag 802.1q. The SmartBits LAN-3311A module can be controlled though Windows and Linux OS.
