Spirent SmartBits LAN-3320A Dual Media SmartMetrics XD Module

The SmartBits LAN-3320A is a dual-media SmartMetrics Module. Spirent Communications designs the SmartBits LAN-3320A SmartMetrics Module. The Spirent SmartBits SMB-600, SmartBits SMB-600B, SmartBits SMB-6000B, and SmartBits SMB-6000C Chassis are used to house the Spirent SmartBits LAN-3320A SmartMetrics Module. The number of the SmartBits LAN-3320A modules accommodated by the abovementioned chassis is 2, 6, and 12, respectively. The Spirent SmartMetrics Modules can be connected to make a multiport system for high-scale applications. The SmartBits LAN-3320A modules can be stacked together to form an extended high-density multiport system consisting of 2 to 768 ports for industrial applications.

The SmartBits LAN-3320A module comes with 2 ports with dual media functionality. You can use each port independently as an Ethernet Gigabit Fiber port or as a conventional Ethernet port supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps line speed connection. Several protocols can be simulated simultaneously on each port of the SmartBits LAN-3320A module. This feature helps in the most realistic realization of complex routed network systems. In accordance with the IEEE standard specifications 802.3, the SmartBits LAN-3320A module supports the generation and evaluation of Ethernet traffic at full-scale line speed in Layer 2 and Layer 3 testing. Multiple transmission modes are supported by the SmartBits LAN-3320A module in both Layer 2 and 3 testing.

The SmartBits LAN-3320A module can transmit 40 to 16,384 bytes frames (fixed or user-defined) and 2,048 streams in the testing of Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices, respectively. Each port of the SmartBits LAN-3320A module is equipped with a 32 MB capture memory enabling the LAN-3320A SmartMetrics Module to perform data recording and exporting in an easy and efficient way.
