Spirent SmartBits LAN-3324A Dual Media SmartMetrics XD Module

The SmartBits LAN-3324A is a multifunctional Dual Media SmartMetrics XD Module. The SmartBits LAN-3324A SmartMetrics XD Module is produced by Spirent Communications. The LAN-3324A SmartMetrics Module supports single mode as well as multi-mode operation. To enable the dual-mode operation, a separate SFP transceiver is required. The ACC-6025A SFP Transceiver is used with the LAN-3324A module for multimode operation with 850 nm wavelength, whereas the ACC-6026A is used for single-mode operation with 1310 nm wavelength. The dual media interface of the SmartBits LAN-3324A module supports the Gigabit Ethernet Fiber connection, as well as 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps Ethernet connection.  Moreover, the LAN-3324A module supports both half-duplex and full-duplex operation.

The LAN-3324A SmartMetrics Module is compatible with four SmartBits Chassis, which includes the SMB-600, SMB-6000B, SMB-6000C, and SMB-6000. There are 4 dual-purpose ports available on the panel of the LAN-3324A SmartMetrics Module. The LAN-3324A module is a scalable module; up to 768-port systems can be made by extending the SmartBits LAN-3324A modules. The generation of realistic traffic with layer 2 and layer 3 DUTs at full line-rate can be accomplished by the SmartBits LAN-3324A. Each port of the SmartBits LAN-3324A module can process a cluster of protocols at any instant, thereby enabling the LAN-3324A SmartMetrics Module to test and monitor giant routed networks.

The LAN-3324A module complies with the IEEE standard 802.3. Embedded with advanced technical features, the SmartBits LAN-3324A module transmits 40 – 16384 bytes size frames. The frames can either be random or of fixed sizes. Moreover, in layer 3 DUT testing, the SmartBits LAN-3324A module can analyze up to 3 million streams under the full-load condition of the performance analysis systems.
