Tektronix TDS7404 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope

The Tektronix TDS7404 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope has a Fast Acquisition Mode that increments the waveform capture speed up to 200,000 waveforms for every second and updates the waveform matrix a huge number of times between sample. This fast capture rate significantly increments the probability that the smallest technical issues and other rare events will accumulate in the waveform memory. The oscilloscope indicates the waveform at an ordinary display speed and the user can control the waveform intensity by utilizing adjusted or programmed brightness. Fast Acquisition mode includes intensity or gray scale information, like an analog oscilloscope, on each side of the waveform array. The waveform array will be a two dimensional array for display pixels. Displayed pixel values are incremented every period they are composed by a waveform acquisition. The FastFrame mode gives the user the chance to jump to and view a desired frame. Time Stamps could display the absolute trigger time for a particular frame and the relative period between triggers of two specified frames. FastFrame allows the user to look at separate waveforms.

The TDS7404 Oscilloscope displays a graph of the information of one channel versus an additional channel. The information may be a nonstop stream and there are not waveform records. This mode will be especially useful for studying phase relationships. Its XY format might not be triggered. When the user sets the vertical position and the vertical offset to center the display in YT mode, the XY displays a center screen and every segment of display in YT produces a division of display in XY mode.
