Tektronix TDS7404B Oscilloscope

The Tektronix TDS7404B has a double processor framework that controls the oscilloscope. The oscilloscope shows a VGA resolution flat screen, transparent touch screen, and front board with direct access to commonly utilized oscilloscope capacities. The user can also operate the oscilloscope with a mouse or console pointing gadget.

The acquisition board of the TDS7404B conditions the input signals, tests them, changes them to digital signals, and controls the acquisition procedure under the direction of the processor framework. The acquisition framework incorporates the multisource trigger, acquisition time-base, and acquisition mode generation and control hardware. The acquisition board is situated in the base compartment of the oscilloscope. Four vertical channels are accommodated and all channels include a Tekprobe Level 2 interface for extra front-end signal modulation capacities like high input impedance real-time probes.

In the Tektronix TDS7404B Oscilloscope, the processor framework contains two processor boards with microprocessors that control the whole oscilloscope. The essential setup supports four input channels labeled Ch 1 through Ch 4, provides an outer trigger input, a trigger output, a Ch 3 signal output, and a test compensation output. Every acquisition channel is outfitted with a processor that uses its own host interface to interface to the GCS, which in turn communicates with the command interface processor over the multiplexed address/data bus.

The CPU board gives quick access to the acquisition board and the display framework. The NLX board reads the front-board switches and encoders and executes any changes requested by their settings. The CPU board gives a GPIB interface through a back-board connector.
