Tektronix TDS840 Digital Oscilloscope

On the Tektronix TDS840 Oscilloscope, the vertical units are displayed and the optical module is not in voltage, but in watts, which is a power unit. The O/E converter inside the module creates a voltage swaying whose amplitude is straightly dependent on the oscillation of the incoming optical power. In this condition, the voltage connected to the electrical sample represents the optical power in its linear shape.

This model offers a procedure that checks the dark level, which is the offset in the optical channel caused by thermal variations or limited leakage current. This technique also checks the vertical proportional optical noise. The checks are made with the vertical offset set to zero and no optical signal contribution to the optical examining module. The instrument has a built-in delicate shut down capacity that securely shuts down the instrument when the user pushes the On/Standby button. The user does not have to close the UI application or Windows 98 before utilizing the On/Standby button. To fully evacuate energy to the instrument, it is possible to utilize the first soft power-down the instrument with the On/Standby button, and afterward set the power switch on the back board to off. The user can reestablish the UI application to the screen by clicking the button in the Windows Task bar. The UI application supplements the equipment controls of the front board, permitting complete set up of all instrument highlights. The System Rebuild CD incorporates the UI application establishment as a feature of an entire hard drive rebuild.
