Lambda LUS-9A-5 Power Supply

The Lambda LUS-9A-5 is an Enclosed Frame, Switching type 5V, 5A Power Supply. This model can be operated over 85-132VAC or 110-165VDC. The Lambda LUS-9A-5 comes with a built-in, fixed overvoltage protection circuit. This circuit prevents damage to both the load and the power supply itself by restricting the power supply to operate with an output voltage beyond the specified range. This power supply is designed to operate as a constant voltage source until and unless the load current remains within the limits at 40° C. If the load exceeds 105%, both current and voltage start decreasing until the voltage reaches zero.

The Lambda LUS-9A-5 can be operated either with a positive or negative output terminal connected to the ground terminal. When this supply is used as a constant voltage source with practical length leads, the output regulation and impedance of the unit may change. However, the user can contain this issue by using the remote sensing option. The remote sensing feature offers complete compensation for any voltage drop in the connecting cables. The voltage output of this power supply can be programmed with the help of a programming power supply, connected externally. The voltage capability of the Lambda LUS-9A-5 power supply can be increased in its series operation.

The thermostat shutdown occurs when the internal heat sink temperature of the power supply exceeds the safe value. This thermostat is designed to reset automatically upon normalization of the heat sink temperature.  The Lambda LUS-9A-5 comes with a local sensing connection that is suitable for relative constant load or in applications where shorter power output leads are used.
