The Tektronix DTG5274 Data Timing Generator can run on Windows 2000 and its shutdown procedure is similar to a PC. When the user pushes the front-board On/Standby switch, the Data Timing Generator begins a shutdown procedure (counting a Windows shutdown) to save settings. This activity expels control from most hardware in the input timing generator. The user should abstain from utilizing the back-board control switch or disengaging the line cord to power off the mainframe.

The DTG5274 has two kinds of channels: logical and physical. The logical channels represent one-piece pattern information and the quantity of legitimate channels is 32 (4 channels x 8 slots).
