National Instruments TB-2640 Terminal Block

The TB-2640 is a front-mounting Terminal Block by National Instruments. The TB-2640 corresponds with the part numbers 779056-01 and 779056-02. The TB-2640 is designed to be used with the PXI-2532 Matrix Switch Module. Part number 779056-01 configures the PXI-2532 module as a 4 X 128 Matrix, while part number 779056-02 configures the PXI-2532 as a 4 X 128 Matrix with 100 Ohm protection resistors on the rows and columns. The 100 Ohm resistors are ideal for high-power applications because they protect the reed relays from capacitive loads.

The TB-2640 is created to facilitate column expansion with dual row connections with ease. Signal connections are accomplished via ribbon cable headers inside the housing. To link to the rows of other PXI-2532 Matrix Switch Modules, there are two sets of row connections accessible in the TB-2640.

The NI TB-2640 can operate with a maximum of 0.5 A current for each channel. The National Instruments TB-2640 has a DC path resistance of <1.5 Ω. This Terminal Block functions with the maximum channel-to-channel switching voltage of 100 V. The NI TB-2640 supports the channel-to-ground switching voltage of 100 V, CAT I. The NI Terminal Block is featured with a typical bandwidth of ≥10 MHz.

This Terminal Block requires four 2 mm jumpers, four 34 conductor, 28 AWG, .050 in. pitch ribbon cable assemblies, one 16 conductor, 28 AWG, .050 in. pitch ribbon cable assembly, and 1/8 in. flathead and #1 Philips screwdrivers.

TB-2640 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the terminal block will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
